Blender Motion

  • Using the magic mouse scroll will rotate the view
  • CMD + Mouse = Zoom In & Out
  • SHIFT + Mouse = Pane Right & Left
  • G + Object = Move object freely (Esc to drop the object)
  • G + X = Move freely in X-Direction
  • G + Y = Move freely in Y-Direction
  • G + Z = Move freely in Z-Direction
  • G + XX or YY or ZZ = Move along the local axis and not the global axis
  • G + Shift + Z = Move in X & Y while disable Z

Blender Shortcuts

  • SHIFT + A = Floating Add Menu
  • SHIFT + Right Click = Move the 3D Cursor Position
  • SHIFT + D = Duplicate Object
  • Change Camera View = Camera + N + Lock Camera To View
  • R to rotate
  • S to scale
  • G to move
  • Options + R = Clear rotations
  • Options + G = Clear move
  • R + X + 90 = Rotate in X direction 90 degress
  • R + Y + 180 = Rotate in Y direction 90 degress
  • R + Z + 270 = Rotate in Z direction 90 degress
  • To color an object = Choose the Top Shading Menu + Add New Shader
  • We can share the same created material across different objects from the add new shader menu
  • On choosing an object = Right Menu contains “Material” menu
  • On choosing a light = Right Menu contains “Light” menu
  • To enhance ‘Evee’ add ‘Screen Space Reflection’ and increase distance in ambient inclusion
  • In the Shader window can right click an object and choose ‘Shade Smooth’

In Edit Mode

  • A: Selects Everything
  • Option + A: Deselects All
  • H: Hide selected
  • Option + A: Unhide selected
  • Tab: To switch between object and edit modes
  • E: Extrude Selected
  • I: Insert Selected

Mirror Modifier

  • Choose object to mirror
  • Modifier -> Add Modifier -> Mirror
  • CMD + A + Rotation to restore object rotation, then choose the mirrored axis from the modifier
  • Remove the un-needed surfaces
  • Move the object slightly
  • Choose clipping from the modifier
  • Choose the edge of the object by Options + left Click
  • Move G + Y to activate clipping
  • Don’t apply the modifier to avoid loosing the mirroring options
